Adam Cole: Arfing Startist

Patience Grasshopper, was The Wipes

Hi, Musicfriends!

Remember the Wipes?  World's best cover band?  Years of benefit concerts to support the Grant Park Cooperative Preschool?

Well, the Wipes hung it up last spring.  Most of us no longer have any connection to the school, and we decided it was time to let other folks with kids there step up and become the Wipes.

But guess what?  The people in the band wanted to keep playing together.  So we kept meeting, and we changed our name.  We're now "Patience Grasshopper."  A lot like the band you love.

And we have TWO gigs coming in a couple of weeks.  First, we'll be playing at the Summer Shade Festival in Grant Park.  We open the festival, playing at the Americana Stage at 12:30 in the afternoon on Saturday, August 27th.  This show is free and open to the public!

Second, amazingly enough, we'll be playing Smith's Olde Bar on Wednesday night, August 31 at 7 PM, as part of the Humble Heroes project to assist police officers and firefighters.  We split the bill with The Elvis Show, the Deadfields, and Parker Smith and the Bandwidth.  Tickets available at http://www.ticketalternative.com/Events/15617.aspx

I hope to see you at one of these events.  Please come by and say hello!

Love,

Adam

No, more about despair. Feeling trapped or like one's dreams aren't going to come true. When everything else is gone, faith may be the only thing you have left to keep you going forward.

Dear Adam, When you say have faith in your shinning star are you referring to your low self asstem?

The song is about living through other people's successes when your own aren't coming. I noticed I was doing this and tried to find a funn way to admit it. The line you're referring to is me pointing out that while I'm talking about how great someone else is, I'm really only thinking about myself!
